Maggie's Memos: A Few Updates

Hey everyone, it's me, Maggie. 

So apparently I've been relegated to the position of "doll who gets to write the boring update posts that no one else wants to take care of".  I'm apparently not important enough to have my picture on the header, or even have a picture in my post.  Not to mention the fact that guest posters make comments about how scary I am.  Whatever.  I can take it.

We just wanted to let you know what's been going on with us over here.  Things have been really crazy lately.  Mama did something to her clavicle this week (I think it's the chest bone or something like that...it's affecting her shoulder and collar bone, too), so she's supposed to be taking it easy.  Nothing really serious, so don't panic, everybody.  Typing, housecleaning and all that is pretty difficult, but she's being stubborn and trying to do stuff anyway.  Apparently I'm not the only one with a stubborn streak around here. ;) 

Our posts have been rather sporadic because a certain fashion doll who now has her own blog (finally!!) has been hogging the computer and typing like crazy.  She says she's trying to get caught up with her life story so that she can be completely caught up with current time.  I can't believe you guys are still reading about her.  All that mush and singing and drama.  Gag me.  And, sigh, once again I've been instructed to put a link to her most recent post.  Really?  I thought we were going to be done with this once she got her own blog!  As much as it annoys me, I'll put a link HERE.  I wouldn't want to start World War III or anything with my fellow (more sympathetic) dolls.

Anyway, we 18 inchers are currently trying to plan a movie marathon night with all of us.  It should be interesting considering the variety of tastes we have.  Disney meets Captain America?  Hmmm...I have a feeling some of us may skip out on the movies we're not interested in.  We'll be doing other things, too, though, like eating popcorn and playing games, so there should be something for everyone. :)

As you all know, this week is Thanksgiving.  Mama and her family are going out of town to celebrate Thanksgiving with Papa's sister and her family.  Mama's still trying to decide which ones of us will be going with her.  I think it's pretty likely that the Hathaway sisters will be the favored ones (surprise, surprise).  Although at one point, Mama was actually talking about trying to take all 7 of us, because the place they're going has some amazing spots for pics, and there might be snow.  I cannot even imagine being crammed into a tote with the other 6 simply to take 20 gazillion pictures in the freezing cold.  Yay.  You know, sometimes the length Mama goes to get a few good blog headers really scares me!

Once we know more, we'll keep you guys posted.  Hopefully we'll have a real post coming up soon (one that actually included me would be nice...I'm just sayin'!).  Talk to you all later!

Tess's Tidbits: An Announcement

Okay, I know this was supposed to be Maggie's special 107th post, and it is still coming!  It will just be the 108th post now. :}  We just had a very important announcement to make that I felt couldn't wait. 

Belle has officially started her own blog! :D  Posting on the pages instead of on regular blog posts was getting very inconvenient for her.  From all of the lovely comments we've received, she now knows that she has enough of a following to justify a blog of her own. :) 

You can see every post and page she's done so far on her blog, Belle's Bulletins: My Life as a Disney Fashion Doll.  We wish her all the best and hope that her blog is successful for her.  And of course, she's starting from scratch, so there are no followers on her blog yet.  I know she'd feel a lot more confident about her decision if some of you who read her stories here would follow her there.  And just think, you don't have to deal with Maggie's sarcastic comments each time you ask about the latest post from Belle! :) (I can say that because she's not sitting here right now.) ;)

Within the next few days, we will be removing the content from Belle's pages at the top of our blog, but we will keep a link to her blog there so that people can find her. :)

Tess's Tidbits: We're Back! (and a new Belle's Bulletins Post)

Wow, it has been such a crazy couple of weeks.  It always takes Mama a while to get back into the groove once school starts, and it normally takes a while for us to figure out the best time to do our posts between comings and goings. :) 

Those of you who follow Mama's blog know that Maggie got to do Mama's 200th post for her...although she failed to inform me beforehand that she never asked Mama's permission!  I'm so embarrassed that I encouraged her!  If I would have known that Mama was out of the loop, I never would have dreamed of being involved!

Anyway, what's done is done, and Mama wasn't too upset about it, so that was a relief.  If you didn't get a chance to read Maggie's post, you can see it HERE.  By the way, it was not my idea to include so many links to our blog in the post!  It felt like shameless product placement to me.  :{  I hope everyone will still like us!

I don't have much more to share with you at this point.  I know Emma is working on a post about the recent visit she and her sisters took to Ruthie's house.  Oh, and Belle wanted me to let you know that she just added a new post to her Belle's Bulletins 2  page! :)

Just one more thing.  Have all of our giveaway winners received their prizes?  We want to make sure everyone got them.  We've already heard from Caelen, so we know she's still waiting on hers.  Is there anyone else who didn't get their prize yet?  We want to make sure they all get there!  Just leave me a comment if you had any problems.

Tess's Tidbits: A New Page from Belle and Blogoversary News!! :)

Hello again, everyone!  I just have a quick post today. 

First, I wanted to let our Belle's Bulletins readers know that Belle has a new post.  She actually started a second page since her first page was so long.  You can see her new post HERE.  And just to warn you, her post ends with a total cliffhanger!!  Belle promised me she'd write another post again soon, though.  I know it's been hard waiting 2 to 3 months between posts!  (Maggie, stop snickering!!)

The other thing we wanted to remind you of is our 1 Year Blogoversary.  It's tomorrow!!! :D  We have some fun things planned, including a small giveaway, so you won't want to miss it.  I managed to get Maggie to stop talking about the Avengers and Captain America long enough to discuss our blog plans, so we're all set.  (Now Maggie, please don't look at me like that.  You have been a bit...obsessed, you know.  I'm sorry, please don't be mad at me!  We'll talk later, okay?)

Maggie's Memos: Upcoming Post and 2 New Posts for Belle's Bulletins

Hey guys, Belle wanted me to give a "head's up" to those of you following the sappy saga of the fashion doll set (ick).  She's apparently added 2 new posts to her "Belle's Bulletins" page.  You can find it by clicking the tab at the top of our blog, just under our header.  And you'll have to scroll all the way down to get to the new stuff. 

Personally, I don't understand why you people have any interest in reading all of that romantic goop that she shares, as she spills her innermost thoughts and feelings to millions of strangers on the Internet.  But, hey, to each his (or her) own, I guess.  And yes, I realize that I also talk to millions of strangers on the Internet.  I just think what I have to say is a little more enjoyable and a little less sappy.  Okay, moving on now.  Really.

I wanted to let everyone know that my "Breaking News with Maggie" interview with Katie (long overdue, I know...but hey, nobody's perfect!) should be up sometime this week.  So keep your eyes peeled. :) 

Also, there's been some sort of rumor that we're getting a new doll.  I'm a little perturbed that Mama keeps doing this to us.  I mean, we already had quite an upset last week when we found out she'd sold Elizabeth/Emily...whatever you want to call her...to some AGPT board member.  Apparently, she's now going to live her life as Diana Barry from "Anne of Green Gables".  Big whoop.  Fine.  Go have fun...just forget about us...YOUR ORIGINAL FAMILY!!!  I've already made up my mind that I'm not going to like the new girl.  I don't like having old family members replaced. :(

P.S.  I cannot believe my best friend feels the need to hack my post and apologize for my bad behavior!!!  What a great day! (Can you sense the sarcasm here?)

Tess's Tidbits: Eugene and Rapunzel's Wedding

Hi guys!! Belle wanted me to let you know that Eugene and Rapunzel's wedding was a big success today.  You can get the whole scoop on the "Belle's Bulletins" tab at the top of our blog.  She hopes everyone gets a chance to read the latest news. 

And don't worry, we have some 18" doll related posts coming very soon!! :)  Maggie and I have both been sick for the past week.  Ugh.  I think it's something Mama's kids gave to us.  Talk to all of you again soon!

Hi everyone!  Belle just wanted me to let you know that she updated her page today, for those of you who follow her "Belle's Bulletins" page.  Things are pretty crazy with the fashion dolls around here.  Rapunzel and Belle have been looking at this really pretty white dress.  Could there be wedding bells ahead for someone?

Belle's Bulletins: My First Post

Hello everyone.  I'm so grateful to Tess and Maggie for graciously allowing me to be a part of their blog.  I realize I didn't handle things very well...I should have come to them first before I just started typing.  Maggie and I definitely got off on the wrong foot.  I'm hoping that in time I'll be able to prove to her that I am trustworthy and a friend worth having.  Anyway, this is the post I was working on when they discovered me at the computer.  I hope you like it.

I don't know what to do.  I feel like I'll completely lose it if I can't let out what I'm feeling.  Things have been so crazy since "beast'sbelle" let me out of my box.  I have nowhere to go, no one to talk to.  Okay, that's not exactly accurate, but I'm just having a hard time opening up to the others.

Do you have any idea how weird it is to live in a house with 12 or more versions of yourself?  At least, that's what they're supposedly supposed to be.  We're all as different as night and day.  Nevertheless, it's kind of creeping me out!

You have no idea the high expectations others have for you when you're a movie doll.  People expect me to be just like Belle in "Beauty and the Beast".  Well, I hate to break it to you folks, but I'm not at all like her!  It would be nice if I was!  My life would be a lot simpler.

For one thing, I'm not French.  I'm not from France, I don't speak French, and I'm really not all that crazy about their food.  Give me an American cheeseburger and fries any day over some fancy French meal that costs way too much for the tiny amount of food that ends up on your plate.  Let's see, I know "Bonjour" and "Merci", but that's about it.  I love French accents, though!  I wish I could talk like that.

For another thing, I can't dance to save my life.  Kind of a crucial part in "Beauty and the Beast".  You know, the romantic waltz towards the end?  If it had been me in the movie, the romance would have ended right there, because I would have stepped on the Beast's toe and then made him laugh with my horrendous attempt at gracefulness.

Then there's the whole singing thing.  I'm pretty much tone deaf, or so I've been told by the other toys and dolls around me at the Disney Store.  At night, when the store was closed, we used to have these store-wide sing-alongs.  They play Disney music all day, so we all had almost every song memorized.  There were always votes on the best and worst for the night.

I was always the worst...every night.  It doesn't do too much for one's self esteem. 

I really don't understand it.  Almost all of the other dolls could sing nearly as well as the characters they were made to look like.  I don't know what happened at the factory the day I was made, but something went haywire. 

Now I'm here at beast'sbelle's house with 12 other Belle dolls (plus countless Belle and Beast figurines, snow globes, and other things), and they all sing beautifully.  They actually all sing together at least once a week.  You can imagine how horrible that first sing was for me.  Here it was all over again.  "Wow, you've got...quite a...um...voice, there" or "You sure don't uh...hear a voice like that every day, do you?"  and "Are you sure you're really a Disney Princess doll?"

Of the Belle dolls here, 5 of us are out of our boxes.  Then there's a Beast doll that transforms into a Prince and another Prince doll (they're both together with other Belles, so don't get your hopes up on any matchmaking schemes).  :}  Of all of the open dolls, I'm the one with the most freedom, because one is up on top of beast'sbelle's bookshelf, and the others are in her curio cabinet.  It gets pretty stuffy in there, or so I'm told.  So, the bottom line is, everyone kind of has a chip  on their shoulder when it comes to me.  The boxed dolls are annoyed that I just got taken out of my box and can now move around and even change outfits.  The deboxed dolls are cranky because I can come and go as I please without attracting too much attention, while they're stuck where they are until everyone is gone or asleep. 

Then, beast'sbelle just broke the news to me today that she's deciding which Beast/Prince doll will work the best for me.  I guess they've got them in stock at Wal-Mart and she thinks one of them would be just right for me.  Hello, can we say "arranged marriage", anyone?  What if she picks some Prince doll with a Gaston complex?  I don't know if I can go through with it.

Well, that's all I have the energy for now.  I'll let you know if things get any better.  Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated!!!
