Breaking News with Maggie: Road Trip!!! :D

Good evening, this is Maggie Wilson with "Breaking News with Maggie."  It's official:  Mama and her family are leaving tomorrow morning for their coastal vacation.  Mama had mentioned earlier that she would take at least one doll with her.  You may be wondering who the lucky doll is.  Well, the answer is....

ME!!!  I can't believe it.  Mama actually chose me over Emma or Piper or any of the others.  She decided she just wanted to take one doll this time, so I'll be traveling in comfort in Mama's "Beauty and the Beast" bag.  As you can see, I've already packed everything I need. :)

There will be others there with me.  Mama's oldest girl is bringing Josefina, her middle girl is bringing Baby Polly (a Bitty Baby), and her youngest is bringing Molly (a doll who's a dead ringer for Tess and Hailey's long departed little sister Ella).  It should be an interesting trip.

I'm almost a little disappointed to miss out on having free reign over the house for 5 days.  But then, nothing could be better than playing on the beach, seeing the sights, and having Mama all to myself for a few days.  Besides, I think Piper was going to see if anyone wanted to watch "Vivah" with her.  Ugh.  More Bollywood.  I'm sorry, I'm just not into movies where characters break into spontaneous song and dance at the drop of a hat. I know I'm in the minority at my house, but that's just the way it is.  (I don't mind the Lord of the Rings musical because: A. It's labeled as a MUSICAL so you have fair warning, and B. I've never actually seen it.  I just like the music.  I might not like it so much if I actually saw it.)

So, I'll be off in the morning.  Mama and I will take lots of pics to share with you all when I get back.  It's going to be a great trip...aside from the 3-4 hour drive in the car.  I'm not very patient.

Oh, and before I forget, Mama and all of us girls have been having problems commenting on Blogger.  We have lots of friends' blogs that we love to comment on, but if you have your comments embedded below your posts instead of opening in a new window or a new page, Blogger isn't letting us sign in.  So, bottom line, you aren't being snubbed if you don't hear from us.  We just can't comment.

If you miss our profound comments that we leave on your blogs, you can always go to "Settings", then click on "Comments" and choose to have comments open in a new window or a new page instead of having them embedded below.  Who knows?  You may have other people and dolls that can't leave comments, too.  You could be missing out!!

Anyway, I think that's about it for me.  I'll see you guys when I'm back from my VACATION!!! :D

Oh, yeah, I almost forgot.  Belle apparently got her act together and did a new post on her Belle's Bulletins Page.  She wanted me to let you all know.  I don't know why I keep getting stuck making these annoying announcements.  That page is so mushy it makes me want to gag.  Anyway, check it out if you like that sort of thing. :{

Breaking News with Maggie: Updates, Doll Wardrobe Contest, etc.

After a long hiatus in which a certain over-talkative doll we all know pretty much took over our blog, I'm back!  I have some breaking news to share with you all.

First, yes, I know I still haven't done my interview post that I promised.  But hey, if you'd been around our house in the last few weeks, you'd understand why.  All the humans were running around like chickens with their heads cut off.  Papa with work, Mama with church, school, and wedding shower obligations, and Mama's girls...well, they just run around non-stop no matter when it is!  Mama's oldest girl also finished first grade last week, so that added to the chaos.

This craziness, along with the aforementioned tendency of other dolls to hog the computer, has made it extremely difficult to post.  I'm not even going to give a date for when my interview post will be happening, because it looks like things won't slow down much in the coming weeks.  Just hang in there, peoples.  The interview(s) will come. :}

Let's see, in other news, Mama got her wisdom teeth out today (all four at once).  Yet another reason it's great to be a doll and not have to deal with such things.  She's doing amazingly well, considering.  She's only taking Advil and isn't even all puffy like a chipmunk (I was kind of disappointed...I wanted to take some pics of her with really puffy cheeks when she wasn't looking!  Oh well, I probably would have been put on restriction for it anyway!). She's just really hoping to avoid the whole "dry socket" thing in the next few days.  It's completely nasty, so I'm not even going to go into what that actually is.  It's just bad...trust me.

The other thing I wanted to mention is that our friend Nora over at  The Doll Wardrobe is having a really fun photo contest, and she just posted the pics for the first round today so that everyone can vote on their favorites.  Mama even entered.  Of course, Charlie got to be her "star doll".  Pshh...figures.  No one ever thinks to ask ME about these things.  I have a WAY more interesting personality.  I must confess I did feel a little bit better about it when Charlie asked me for advice on how to pose.  She and Mama even decided to use the picture I suggested!  Still not as good as being IN the picture, but, you know.

Anyway, there are a lot of awesome pics.  Everyone did a great job, so be sure to check it out! (Whoa, I totally sounded like Tess or something:  "Everyone did a great job"...yikes!  I must be getting soft!)

I guess that's about all of the updates for now.  Mama and her family will be leaving next week for vacation, so she'll probably choose one of us to go with her (one of the goody two-shoes favorites, I'm sure).  The rest of us will have the place to ourselves.  Whoo-hoo!!! Maybe that's even better than a vacation! ;)  I have no clue what to expect in the next week or two as far as posting goes, but we'll just do what we can.

Laters!

Emma's Editorials: Introducing Piper Olivia! :)

Hi guys!  This technically should have been a "Breaking News with Maggie" post (in fact, she's been pretty cranky all day because I'm doing this post instead), but I begged Tess and Maggie to let me do it since it's about my sister.  Maggie wasn't too keen on the idea, but Tess managed to convince her by suggesting that Maggie do one of her official "Breaking News with Maggie" interviews with Piper later.

So for today, I'm just going to share some family pictures we took and tell you a little bit about her.  We'll save the official interview for Maggie (or she won't talk to me for the rest of the week!). ;)

Piper is sooo amazing!  The more Charlie and I learn about her, the more excited we are that she's our sister.  She loves listening to classical music, and she can play the piano and the cello.  Charlie and I were pretty impressed with that, since we've never learned to play anything.  We can sing well enough and carry a part, but we'll never be asked to sing solos. :}  We'd never even considered musical instruments.  Hmmm, maybe we should try it! :)

Her favorite colors are purple and pastel blue, and she LOVES Chococat from Sanrio.  She even has a necklace with him on it!

Let's see, I think I already mentioned that we found out Piper likes Lord of the Rings, musicals, and Bollywood.  I am soooo excited to have another Bollywood fan in the house! :D  One of her favorite movies is even the same as mine:  "Veer-Zaara"!  She also likes "Vivah", which I've never seen.  Mama said she'd rent it on Netflix so that we could try it (since she's the other Bollywood fan). :)

Her favorite musicals are "The Sound of Music", "Fiddler on the Roof", and the musical version of "The Lord of the Rings".  Maggie was over the moon when she heard that! :)

Her favorite place to go is to the ocean.  She likes the feeling of sand beneath her feet, and she likes to imagine stories about the people she sees.

She's still pretty quiet, overall.  Now that we know that's normal, though, it's not as stressful.  Piper's just one of those girls that thinks more than she talks.  She's very reserved and keeps a lot of her thoughts to herself.  She's the exact opposite of me...I can't seem to stop talking even when I want to!  You can tell that she feels things deeply, though.  And she likes to express herself through her music more than through her words.  She actually reminds me a lot of Tess, except that Tess tends to express herself through her writing instead.  That, and I think that being friends with Maggie has forced Tess out of her shell a little more.

That's really all I can think of for now.  Sorry this is just a sneak preview.  Maggie will get down to the "nitty-gritty" and get all of the details in her interview (hopefully she won't scare Piper to death).

Oh, and I almost forgot my promise to tell you about Grandmama's new doll!  She's really nice.  Her name is Janie.  She actually looks a lot like Charlie, except she has shorter hair and eyes the same color as mine instead of hazel.  Our cousin Ruthie is really happy to have a friend with her.  And the day after Janie got there, Grandmama had another visitor.  Kaya is also living at her house now.  It's getting almost as crowded over there as it is over here! :)  We love it that way, though.

I'll leave you with a few pics to tide you over until Maggie gets her interview post done.  We're really enjoying having so many new faces around. :)

Our formal family portrait.

And here we are in more comfortable attire...much better! :)

Profile shots.  Can you tell Mama was having fun?  It's a good thing she didn't take all of these pictures when Piper first came...I don't think she could have handled it!

Our beautiful sister.

Mama wanted to get some pics of each of us individually with Piper.  Here I am with her...

...and here she is with Charlie.

Piper's Chococat necklace.  Isn't he cute?

Here's a picture of Charlie with Janie.  Don't they look alike?

Piper and Janie really hit it off since they were "newbies" at the same time.  I think I see the beginning of a great friendship! :)

Emma's Editorials: Piper is Here!! :D

Just wanted to let everyone know that our sister Piper arrived here safe and sound today.  She's really tired from her long trip and pretty overwhelmed by all of the sudden changes, so we're going to give her some time to get settled in for a while.  We probably won't formally introduce her until sometime next week.

Charlie and I were a little nervous when Mama came and told us that she was here.  [We didn't get to see Mama open her box, :( but that was probably better because Piper was shipped with no clothes on! I think she would have been pretty embarrassed to meet us in that condition!]  Would she like us?  Would we all get along?

It was a little awkward at first.  She didn't say much of anything at all.  After some faltering small talk, she asked Mama if she could rest for a little while.  Charlie and I were really worried.  She didn't seem even slightly excited to be with us.

When Mama came back from taking Piper to the room to rest, she reassured us, saying Piper was just trying to adjust to all the new things in her life.  She told us to give it a little time.

A few hours later, Piper woke up.  She was still pretty quiet, but she didn't seem as listless and uninterested as before.  We didn't talk much, but we did confirm that she really likes Chococat (she even has a really cute necklace with him on it).  She also enjoys musicals, the Lord of the Rings (Maggie is thrilled), and...get this...Bollywood movies!!!!  I knew there was something I liked about this girl! ;)

Even after our conversations, we still have so much to learn about her.  She seems really shy and reserved.  Of course, that may change once she gets some rest and gets to know us. :)

I can't wait for all of you to meet her!  Be sure to check back next week!

P.S.  For those of you who are worried, no, I haven't taken over Tess and Maggie's blog.  I just happened to be the one with the most subjects to post about in the last couple of weeks. :}  You should be hearing from Tess and Maggie again soon!

P.P.S.  In other exciting news, Grandmama got another doll today, too!  We'll give you more info about her when we post about Piper. :)
