Breaking News With Maggie: Avengers, Assemble!!!

This is Maggie Wilson of "Breaking News with Maggie", here to tell you that THE AVENGERS ARE HERE!!!!!!  :D  Seriously, the movie opens tonight with midnight showings all over the nation.  But will Rachel and I be a part of that fortunate group that gets to stay up late, eating candy and getting hyper while waiting for our favorite super heroes to light up the screen?  That would be a no.  Apparently, Mama and Papa have something against staying up that until the wee hours of the morning and joining the crowds.  Of course, it doesn't help that Papa is still at work and Mama is fighting a cold.  Still, though...

I must confess it's going to drive me crazy waiting to see this movie!  I mean, we've had to wait for it to come out, but it will be even harder knowing that it's playing and we could technically be going.  It stinks being so dependent on the humans.

In other movie news, Mama is still undecided as to whether we'll be able to watch "The Hunger Games".  She's currently in the middle of reading the series (she just finished "Catching Fire" this afternoon) and is worried that it might be too violent for us.  I tried reminding her that Rachel and I are not really 13 and 14...we're much older in doll years (see THIS POST if you're confused), but she's still hesitant.  She said she'd like to finish the series and then make her decision.  Pooh.  I hate being patient.

I guess that's about all the news for now.  This is Maggie Wilson, trying to be patient, and signing off.

Awesome! Hopefully Rachel and I will be seeing it this weekend with Mama and Papa. I HOPE they don't make us wait any longer than that!

I know that you are talking about the hunger games the absolute best book series ever! But I am ten and I didn't find that book scary at all.

I've been so excited for this movie for a REALLY long time! It's weird, because if this movie had come out a year ago, I would have said something like, "Ew. Spiderman is the only good superhero." But now I kind of love all the Avengers, even if I've only seen Captain America and part of Iron Man (I fell asleep...). Luckily my best friend has Thor and both Iron Man movies (not Hulk, though, but that's okay since I don't really love him), so I may have to borrow those this weekend. :D

(P.S. Mia says hi and told me to tell you that you and Rachel should do a post reviewing The Avengers. I told her not to keep her hopes up, but I said I'd pass on the message.)

Hi All AG. Thanks for commenting. I don't think Mama was necessarily worried that we'd be scared. She just isn't comfortable with the violence. She doesn't want us filling our heads with too much of that. I appreciate her concern but I REALLY want to see the movie. Papa just picked up Mockingjay for her last night, so she should be able to make a decision in the next couple of days. It only took her two days to read each of the first two books. :}

Hi Claire. Tell Mia we all said "hi" back. :)

Yeah, I never thought I'd be this excited about this movie either. My excitement about "The Avengers" really began after I watched the first season of their cartoon series on Netflix ("The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes"). I really enjoyed "Captain America", too. Ironically, I've never actually seen "Iron Man", even though he's my favorite character. Rachel and I had these grand plans to do a pre-Avengers marathon, but it never worked out. :} I'm soooo excited for this movie, though!

Hmm, so is Mia trying to get Rachel to put me out of a job? I was the one planning on doing a review, and Rachel's pretty shy, but I suppose I could ask her. She might be more into writing than talking. ;) No promises though, okay?

Talk to you later!

Hey Maggie! Mia here. Just so you know, I wasn't trying to put you out of a job. ;) I was actually hoping that both you AND Rachel could do a review together! But I won't get my hopes up, I promise. ;)

P.S. I hope Mama will let you read/watch "The Hunger Games"! I really hope she does, that way we can discuss it together (it's one of my favorites). :)

No problem, Mia...I was just teasing! ;) It's funny, after your suggestion, I was thinking it would be fun to do the post together with Rachel. I guess we had the same idea! ;)

I'll let you know when I find out about The Hunger Games, too. :) I'm not sure what Mama will decide, but I'll try to remember that she's just trying to be cautious and protective. Sigh.

I know how you feel about. Ever since the Hunger Games came out I've been dying to see it. My mom is also kinda worried about the violence but there has been a few times were we almost went but them she changed plans and stayed at home :( It is really hard knowing it's playing and your not getting to watch it. I'm very un-patient.

Hey Madison...nice to know I'm not the only one waiting. And it looks like I'll be waiting for a while. We were going to go see "The Avengers" this weekend, but Mama caught a cold that started getting worse on Friday and still hasn't let up all the way. The bummer is that this most likely means we'll have to wait until NEXT WEEKEND to see it! :( I know Mama can't help getting sick, but still it's so disappointing!

She also finished all three of the Hunger Games books and is leaning towards not letting us see the movie. She thinks we could handle the first movie, but she's concerned about the next two and thinks it might be better to just avoid the whole series entirely. :( For some reason, she thinks I'd complain if I got to see the first movie and missed out on the next two. Why she would think that I would be the type to complain, I have no idea! ;)

Anyway, if we do end up seeing it, it will most likely be when we're home, so Mama can talk to us about it as we watch. I'm just trying to get it into my head that we're not going to see it, just in case.

A Very Deflated Maggie

Thanks, Emily.

We took some time to check out your blog. Very cool! Tess and Emma especially liked all of the hair tutorials. I go for more simple styles myself. ;)
